One of the first graduates from the Judiciary Academy of the Korean Empire (1897-1910), Yi Jun was one of three special envoys, the other two being Yi Sang-seol and Yi Wi-jong, dispatched by King Gojong to the Second Hague Peace Conference held in 1907. Their mission was to present an appeal to the international community against the invasion of Korea by Imperial Japan, but his untimely death during the mission led to its failure.
